Standing a Monopod

There is little doubt that the tripod will give you more stability than the monopod, but the latter is much lighter, more compact, easier to handle, and can be extended quickly. Monopods also allow you to use a reasonably long-focus lenses and provide the stability you need when shooting in the wilderness, or working as a wedding photographer. Positioning monopod and keeping it permanently on the ground is usually done in these four ways:

Having a monopod in front of you with legs spread apart. It is a way of keeping a tripod that comes naturally, but also the least efficient way, since it provides less stability. The camera can be mounted on a ball head and set it vertically or horizontally, elbows should be close to the body and is held or stand with both hands or just one of them. second place on the monopod close your right foot, if you're right-handed person or on your left foot, if you're left-handed. If monopod near the right foot and then left the food should be put forward and two legs should be parallel to each other or at a slight angle. left leg should be slightly bent, so you'll have even more stability and monopod should be supported with your left thigh, and it is a position that will allow you to keep the camera steady for all your action shots. third place was where you stand with a slightly bent left leg (if right handed) and hold the monopod a bit tilted, based behind his left foot. two legs may be parallel or at a slight angle and monopod should be supported by your left thigh. left hand to keep on top of the monopod, while on the ground and slightly to the left, the pressure on a monopod will help you to stabilize and turn the camera can be placed vertically or horizontally.
  • Option four is ideal for taking photos opportunistic - although most monopods are easy to expand, putting in stabilizing the bag is even faster. Once placed in a bag, monopod held firm body and two legs are slightly bent, with legs apart in order for the whole body to be in a stable position.
