Canon PowerShot G10 Digital Camera Review - Evolution Or Revolution?

Canon PowerShot G10 is evolutionary not revolutionary upgrade from well-regarded G9. But it's like saying humans evolved from apes. The difference is still substantial. Check out this digital rangefinder-style camera, and you'll find a serious photographic gorilla.

The resolution was upped to a whopping 14.7 megapixels. True, for some purposes, any more than 6-8 MP is a waste. But it is technical and there are two points to make about it. One of them is that consumers actually want higher res. Secondly, apart from "bigger is better" mentality, it's still true that more information in the chip, the more information you can get out of it.

When it comes to increasing, the selection of small parts, or just create a larger than usual graphics (like, say, 20 x 24), the number of extra pixels do not help. chip must be "low noise", of course. Be assured that Canon really comes here with his new DIGIC IV processor.

PowerShot G10 also houses an impressive high-speed servo AF (AF). Frame static shot, and it will not matter much. extra fraction of a second to focus on the flower will not bother anyone. However, for sports footage is required. Canon is not a stellar job here, too. Mismatch between the images are minimal. 1.3 second start was hardly noticeable. Very light time between shots is under half a second increase only by 0.8 seconds for low-light scenarios.

Sometimes you have to make a quick shot. times are littler more than the Canon G10 at the top of the class. But not by much. Two shots back to only 2.2 second delay. Using the flash bumps that up to 2.9 sec - slower than high-end SLR, such as, for example EOS XSI, but still very good for the "prosumer" cameras

.

These images will be sharp and clear, too. Several prominent features guarantee that the PowerShot G10. Canon lenses are among the best in this model is no exception. F2.8, 27-140 mm (equivalent) lens allows you to work at low shutter speeds in low light. However, you still get the zoom from wide angle to medium telephoto. stabilization lens-shift image makes sure you get crisp recordings of all time.

Canon PowerShot G10 gives an even exposure compensation dial, so you can make fine adjustments. Your pictures have been consistently close to perfect as the technology can deliver. With Canon technology, it's pretty close.

Change the AF area. Narrow is the "spot" (usually a feature found only on high-end digital SLR cameras). When you compose an off-center, which will come in very handy. Focus is great from the center to the edge, as you would expect with Canon lens. It remains that way, even directed at long distances.

Use the RAW image to get the most visual information to play with later. Play with it using Canon's super easy to use Digital Photo Professional software. Create professional-quality photos with the PowerShot G10. You will show that this camera is a beautiful beast.
